Pros

Sales support tools and training are strong with website-based sales center for developing potential customer sales, research and training, etc. Havertys is always seeking to improve the customer's shopping experience and product offerings, quick delivery, quality, etc. The benefits package is well-thought out, even offering free outsourced telephone counseling and referral system for personal life issues that may arise. There are many rewards offered for sales performance. Havertys is truly dedicated to corporate and local store involvement in non-profit community-based needs.

Cons

Straight commission is a roller-coaster ride in this tough economy and the potential income is significantly lower following the downturn in fall 2007. Furniture shopping is not done on a regular basis, therefore doing a great job will see its rewards over the long-term. The most successful people on the sales floor are those who have worked in the same store for a number of years and are benefitting from return customers who also send in their referred friends and their grown children. The retail hours are hard on family and personal life when the best sales are made on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Pros

The management is great and if something happens and you need time off they work well with you and do everything they can to help you succeed

Cons

If you want to make real good money you have to work long hours. No reward for being with the company for many years.

Good management and people at least at my location Great customer service Great logistics operation Great quality products makes it easy to sell Fair Pay

Cons

When its slow, its slow Upper Management needs to be more forward looking Need to have more product knowledge training sessions, preferably when its slow, this will lower the waste Need to have a better promotion program for people looking to move up in the company Do not always promote the BEST people
