Pros

Flexible schedule..the only pro there is.

Cons

Consider yourself desperate and insane if you apply here. Accusatory attitudes from the office all the time. Entirely too much paperwork and charting. VERY LOW PAY. Not nearly enough travel allowance if they even decide to give it to you. Very political throughout the office.

Pros

If you put in the time and effort, you are rightfully rewarded. Health Connect America is no different from any other company in regards to this. A few pros for the company would be: 1) There is always something to do. I am one who always wants to be busy with some kind of project and will make my own if not given any. Throughout my entire duration at HCA, there hasn't been one time where there was nothing to do at my job. 2) Always be prepared for the unexpected. I am one who likes having shenanigans popping up out of hte blue and having to fix a problem immediately. Some may see this as a con, but I like being challenged, being put on the spot, and its never a dull day at HCA for me thanks to all of this. 3) The people I work with. We are a team that is tightly coordinated, communicate, have a lot of fun, and get things done to meet our offices IT needs. 4) Travel. Its always nice to get out of the office and visit other HCA offices and take care of their IT needs. 5) Rewarded for your hard efforts. Come in, do your job and a bit more, and you will be rewarded. 6) The fact that I can work anywhere I want to assist anyone in HCA. You are not directly tied to your office and your office computer to be able to access what you need to help someone which is a godsend. Access HCA's resources from anywhere you want. 7) 3 minute drive to work 8) The work / life balance is there if you know how to manage your time and duties.

Cons

The cons I list here are for HCA as a whole and not directly tied to IT. 1. Communication still needs to be worked on. Active listening is key here. 2. Training still needs to be worked on to be better than what it is. 3. Work / Life balance can be tough depending on your role at HCA.

Pros

The team atmosphere is second to none. Everyone seems to always be willing to lend a helping hand, provide useful advice and guidance, and support each other with encourage and kindness. The salary-plus pay model is also a pro, in that HCA rewards employees for seeing clients and providing good client care.

Cons

Paperwork is always challenging, as with any job in this field. However, teamwork among employees is helpful in this area, and HCA offers webinars and training on effective documentation and time management strategies.
