The pension and benefits are really, really good. You also get a lot of time off and breaks during the day.

Cons

HRI employees work side-by-side with State of NY health department employees. The atmosphere is very bad. There is no benefit to doing good work (rewards are based only on length of employment), so people are generally unmotivated. A lot of time and money is wasted. Management has no control over disruptive employees, as the union protects employees.
