Pros

Overall the company seems to be a happy place with a good culture, and a lot of nice perks. I know there are many departments and employees that will be satisfied to work here.

Cons

There is room for much improvement in the Technology area of this company. If you are a technology professional looking for career pathing and a fair, ethical environment, you may want to keep looking. This company tout’s promotion from within, but what they don't tell you is that won't happen unless you are part of the “friends” circle which goes all the way up the chain to the “C” level. Friends outside of the company will be hired over qualified internal candidates. They won’t give the budget, resources, or necessary tools to get the job done, but they expect perfect results. Don’t worry if you can’t get this impossible feat done if you are part of the circle, but if you’re not…. expect to be publicly flogged. Go to your manager, they will sound sympathetic, but nothing will change. Go higher up or to HR, same result. They will give your name and grievances to your manager with a promise of no retribution, but then you have created an even more difficult situation for yourself. This company actually holds departmental meetings to “coach” employees on how to answer NPS or employee surveys so their scores will look better. Ask them about it and they will tell you it’s just so you understand how to fill out the survey, but ask anyone in the room and that is not the case. This is highly unethical.

Thank you for your review of HealthEquity on Glassdoor. While I am disheartened to read your review and experience with HealthEquity, we are appreciative when our team members provide meaningful feedback so that we can best learn and take action. I personally know that our Technology leadership takes all feedback very seriously and is committed to taking action on feedback to make a better experience and working environment for all team members. There has already been action in place regarding this feedback. The Ethics Hotline has an incredibly thorough review process to ensure that any issue voiced through that avenue is taken with the appropriate level of seriousness. There is no manipulation or discrediting of any issue reported. I would encourage all team members to work with leadership or People Team to ensure they have a sufficient understanding of the reporting procedure process. Thank you for your review and contributions to HealthEquity.

Pros

I LOVE that I am able to resolve members issues and that I get to know that the issue is resolved. The benefits for the HSA is great, insurance...well. They do 6 weeks of training. Will get all your hours.

Cons

There are many issues in member services. I will not nit pick on all of them. Just my biggest concern. I started out here a year ago & had NEVER been on a warning for attendance, I have been working for 20 plus years, I can't get off warnings here. If you get sick or have any sudden emergency you will need to know weeks to months in advance so you can try to get approved time off. If you have to leave for an emergency or your too sick to work then you are on a warning, they do let us trade shifts but next to impossible to get a trade. I've seen emails for coverage sent several times in a day where a mom is having to put her child 2nd to her job, leaving kids too young home alone sick or with broken bones at school. I couldn't imagine how these single mom's feel! And it is a HUGE liability! For the last year I have been sick almost constantly. Other people have to come in sick...or else they will be fired. I know 99% of the time I get sick is from work, I don't have kids at home anymore & my husband isn't sick. I've had to work with Bronchitis & had the CEO ask me in the elevator "if you have Bronchitis why are you not home?" I could only answer with coughing. I've been sent home or "strongly recommended to go home" & told not to come to work sick. I can't tell how much I've spent at the Dr for a note because a cold has taken my voice everyone can tell, but have to have a note can't just get some sleep as the Dr is going to say to do. We are supposed to educate members on how to save money on health care but we don't get the option to practice what we preach. I understand that 1 person off the phone makes everyone else pick up your SLACK, I've been told that more than once I've been told that in every meeting with my team lead. But wouldn't that be better than wrong information given because of medicine head, or having to throw up at your desk in a garbage can, or spreading the junk to everyone else? When on a warning you cannot apply for other positions. Member services is the only position that you do not need a BS degree. If you are looking for a place where you will be able to make a career without a huge debt in student loans...keep looking. If you want to be recognized for your effort & get positive coaching...keep looking. If you have might get sick or might have any emergency...keep looking! There's 1 way to get around most of these things; be in the click!
