Pros

The company has all the great benefits of a cafeteria, gym and a great beautiful building. Depending on what department/magazine you work, there's plenty of nice perks and freebies! And beautiful views!!

Cons

The salaries could be much better. It's knows for having the lowest in the publishing, you work a lot but get paid very little. It's not as fancy as it can seem to be from the outside.

Pros

Culture is nice in general. Headquarters in NYC are beautiful, though increasingly cramped.

Cons

In support areas, people are evaluated based on how well they manage up, not on how good they are. No corporate culture or sense of mission. Too much emphasis on surface things, not real things. No career path.

Pros

As a marketer, great opportunity to build valuable campaigns. Great work/life balance.

Cons

Compensation. Impossible to live in NYC on this salary. It does not feel like the company values employees, until they get a job offer elsewhere. Very corporate environment and hard to grow.
