Cash rich, debt free, broadly diversified company that is willing to take chances on new brands and potential marketing opportunities. A positive work environment that encourages and fosters an atmosphere of respect, courtesy and team spirit. Open access to professional development tools and inspirational content. Friendly competition between brands in the building that drives innovation and work ethic. Upward mobility possible given a good-fit opportunity.

Lack of clear communication about the company's strategy for thriving in a very and increasingly disrupted marketplace, particularly the impact on individual roles and job security.

Pros

Great building and some nice perks to go with it, including the location right at Central Park. Good restaurants around too.

Cons

Most of the people working at Hearst don't have families because they live alternative lifestyles and they in turn don't get what it means to have employees that do have families. They rarely hire people that have families or they fire them very easily because they don't understand why you can't be available 24/7.

Awful sales management - favoritism ran rampant. Job description vs actual job very different. Salespeople have no defined territories resulting in back biting conflict.
