Pros

I enjoyed my time at Hearst. I negotiated a salary that worked well for me and my family and an extra week of vacation. (10 days is not enough). Hearst offers extras, like educational resources, fitness benefits, in-tower speaking engagements, that are there for you to take advantage of or not. Overall enjoyed my colleagues and the office environment.

Cons

Like at most big companies, you only have so much say over how your role is defined. It sometimes felt as if I was just along for the ride, and assigned to projects and teams as the company saw fit. I’m pretty flexible so it worked out for me, but that experience isn’t for everyone.
