Hearst Newspapers - Avoid Them

Pros

The benefits & health care packages were actually pretty decent, and at least relatively organized.

Cons

The company is consistently consolidating, does not backfill positions. Everything is tied to sales, but no focus on the actual core product that is causing the company to fall apart. Extremely sketchy leadership that are just riding out a sinking ship. Most projects are short-term cash grabs to try and stay afloat. I was promoted into a position after years with the company and actually had my pay decrease.

Pros

Good learning experience from co-workers

Cons

Managers and higher level employees only cared about their own growth within the company and didn't care if they threw everyone else off to the wolves.
