Pros

Working the last 25+ years in Silicon Valley, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of several amazing companies. Helix is without a doubt the best company I’ve yet to work for. I’m doing meaningful, creative work that drives a vision where people can lead better lives by accessing the power of their DNA. This can only happen with a team of incredibly smart, passionate and diverse people, who make Helix an inspiring place to work. CEO and leadership is a unique blend of business and science, further enabling the mission.

Cons

As some other reviewers have noted, being a small start up comes with growing pains, the need to pivot when necessary and keeping an eye on resources.

Pros

Talented engineers. I work with really great colleagues, collaborative, and smart, good hiring bar, no jerks Friendly scientists, we care a LOT about data accuracy, and I have learned a lot about genetics Friendly people at company, weekly all-hands, public goals, CEO shares board slides, etc

Cons

San Carlos is middle of Peninsula, a bit harder to get to if you’re from SF but worth it Some startup growing pains as teams get bigger and harder to communicate but no territorial stuff going on

Pros

-Amazing team of people -First big product launch today with a huge consumer brand (National Geographic). -Compared to most start-ups the story is amazing and the mission will change the world. -The benefits are exceptional for a new start-up. -The technology is cutting edge and there is clear direction on how to get from phase one to the future strategy of the company.

Cons

-Still have a lot of hiring to do in all areas especially engineering -Growth can be challenging on culture but management is working hard to ensure things are moving in the right direction.
