Pros

Exceptional team at all levels, working on the exceptional opportunity: bring the value decades of research in genomics/DNA to everyone, in a super convenient and compelling way. The CEO and co-founders are practical visionaries, with incredible domain expertise that complements each other very well. Strong company culture, where everyone is truly driven by the company's mission. Very open and transparent communication from the leaders.

Cons

As with any fast-growing startup with an opportunity this size, teams, processes, and priorities are constantly shifting and growing with the needs. If you are considering joining Helix, you should be comfortable with this typical startup environment.

Pros

Talented engineers. I work with really great colleagues, collaborative, and smart, good hiring bar, no jerks Friendly scientists, we care a LOT about data accuracy, and I have learned a lot about genetics Friendly people at company, weekly all-hands, public goals, CEO shares board slides, etc

Cons

San Carlos is middle of Peninsula, a bit harder to get to if you’re from SF but worth it Some startup growing pains as teams get bigger and harder to communicate but no territorial stuff going on

Pros

Helix epitomizes why I love technology and the tech industry. Useful products, brilliant and diverse co-workers, collaborative decisions & culture and most importantly, a mission I can feel good about when I go to sleep every night. Optimistic and honest CEO. Leaders are incredibly approachable and available. Good work-hard-play-hard balance. This is as good as it gets.

Cons

Still has some growing pains from startup. Some departments are still new and have constant change. Company is growing fairly quickly, which puts a fair amount of strain on managers & can cause a bit of chaos.
