Corrupt Management

Pros

Great company for Entry-Level Engineers, although I wouldn't spend more than a couple of years there. They are given a lot of technical work due to the fact that the Senior Engineers are leaving the company. Just don't expect any mentoring, as the Senior Engineers are over-worked and simply don't have time to help you.

Cons

Management made it very clear that I was not a core member of the team, even as a reputable and experienced engineer. Any attempt to go above and beyond for my job was viewed as an attack on their leadership and met with verbal harassment. I was often told that my ideas were "stupid". Management would then use my ideas and claim them as their own, since they couldn't provide better ones. If you are a smart and hardworking Engineer, then you will be taken advantage of by management. They will overwork you, leave you with a poor performance review, and claim that they had to do your job for you. Management takes credit for your work, and they most likely receive nice bonuses and raises as a result. Essential members of my team have told me that they also received poor reviews. Management kept us oppressed by giving us vague tasks, unrealistic timelines, and claiming that we couldn't deliver.

Hendrickson Response

Thank you for your long review and thorough feedback. We take allegations of “corrupt management” and “bullying” very seriously and will investigate all the claims in your post. We realize Hendrickson is not for everyone, however we are very proud to say our turnover rate at the Woodridge facility is less than 5% YTD. From that small group very few have been from our engineering departments and even fewer have been from our Senior Level. To continue to retain our key employees Hendrickson understands we always need to listen to our employees and develop them for the future. To assist with this we recently completed our bi-annual anonymous all employee opinion survey. With the results we will conduct employee round-table meetings and implement improvements from the surveys and discussions. Also, our HR team works in conjunction with our managers and senior leaders to develop individualized training & development plans to continue to develop our future. Directly in regards to your ideas being called “stupid” we have no records of such an incident being turned in or reported. We take this very seriously and ask if you have any additional details on this event to contact the Woodridge HR team. Again thank you for your review and we will take your information and use it to continue to get better as a company. We wish you luck in all your future endeavors.

Pros

Employee-focused company that has achieved exponential growth in recent years. There are almost always opportunities for growth, development, and advancement especially if you have the desire. The company has a good work/life balance and is very accommodating. The compensation is very good for the area. Full benefits package is very competitive with low premiums, low deductibles, and a wide array of coverage and providers.

Cons

Opportunities for management to be more accommodating to changes. As the workforce majority transitions to the next generation, the company can sometimes struggle to be competitive and attractive to potential hires and to retain strong talent. Things such as flexible work schedules, opportunities to work from home, fitness/wellness initiatives, and childcare would be appealing. There is also an opportunity to increase motivation through more aggressive performance-based bonuses/compensation.
