A good job and great career opportunity for a High School educated man

Pros

A friendly work environment with a stable privately held company that offers good wages and benefits. They promote mostly based on seniority. Overtime is readily available and pays time and a half.

Cons

The plant operates 24/7, only closing for a couple of days at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. Each of the four shifts is 12 hours long. In order to be promoted into most positions, you have to be willing to work the night shift.

The company is fast paced, growing, with lots of opportunity for smart, capable people. Great products.

Cons

It is very fast paced. In addition, the rapid growth does present challenges to ensure that the number of employees does not expand too quickly - this measn workloads can be high.

Pros

The work instructions were well thought out, and generally hard work was rewarded. Team work was part of there culture, and cultivated throughout the plant with quality first over production.

Cons

Heraeus consistently ran short on operators causing long hours and massive overtime. This would often disrupt family life. Heraeus tended not to order equipment parts until they failed causing unnecessary down time. Eventually the division was closed, and out sourced to Singapore.
