Build-to-print contract manufacturing service provider for med-tech
Pros
- Great opportunity for interns and entry level employees to learn mfg techs, solid modeling skills, industrial stats, and manufacturing commercialization processes. Interns are relied heavily upon to get work done at this company. - Fast growing/ crown-jewel of the parent company. Due to other medtech mfg businesses consolidating, HMC is in a prime position to take over their market shares for legacy work in the short term (0-3 years). - Excellent work-life balance for product development engineers/ project managers. 40 hour work weeks are the max expected, and schedules are very flexible for working from home or different hours. Managers are very liberal with PTO and comp days.
Cons
- Minimal growth opportunities unless you advance into personnel management or move into sales. - I will respectfully disagree with a prior reviewer regarding entrepreneurial mindset and support. HMC's Innovation strategy focuses on providing existing technologies, winning more market share (through acquisition and competitor displacement), and a few small, underutilized new platforms. New ideas take years to get funding/ resources due to extreme investment conservatism. Problem solving =/= innovation, necessarily, and new business ideas are rarely evaluated.
