Pros

Had a company vehicle and free gas.

Cons

Layoff quite frequently without any warning regardless of your job title (Executive level role and below).

Pros

When you a manager you get to drive the cars and don’t have to pay for gas . That’s literally the only pro

Cons

They understand staffing is an issue , but they don’t hire more staff Though they want cars being cleaned, don’t want to hire utilities to do the job of cleaning cars . The reps are cleaning cars . How do you want me to focus on sales and cleaning cars . They switch what the focus is every other week . They want branch managers to be at the branch from open to close every day . And if they had it there was it would legit be everyday thank god for Sunday’s . They generally don’t care about your well being , I tell my employees that if you want to quit I’m fully behind you because it’s too much to go home with . They are literally stuffing teslas down our throats and we are inconvenienced because not every location has charging stations . You have to call off sick just to get mentally prepared for another day of work . And they Will dangle a carrot in front of the horse just to get their way .

Pros

-Great support staff -salary wasn't too bad for SWFL

Cons

- Holy turmoil with the board and upper management, C-suite is a revolving door - There is zero job security in many ways, so watch out...my first 4 months I saw three departments lay off a boat load of employees, this was pre-pandemic. Then came the pandemic of 2020 where the company laid of thousands of employees. The travel industry is a leading indicator of how the market is doing, and it was doing very poorly. The company has since gotten out of bankruptcy with the help of private equity, but they are already on their third CEO (Kathy, Paul, and now the new guy). - Post pandemic the company believes everyone in corporate should return to the office full time to work, so if you want that flex schedule it will be sorely lacking at Hertz.
