Pros

Weekly pay, and hilarious co workers

Cons

As a MT (new hire) I am left alone at one of the Richmond HLE location ALL ALONE, to run an entire location by myself. That means I am renting to customers, answering phones, cleaning cars, taking vehicles to get Maintenance Requests done, picking up customers, dropping off customers, picking up vehicles from body shops, etc. I work 10-11 hours a day, and most of the time without a break because I’m the only person at the location. I always get told to take a break, but how can I when I don’t have a lending hand. I also get told by management that I can’t work over 48 hours a week, but that’s completely impossible considering I have absolutely no help. Every week I asked upper management for help, and I’m told “NO” without an Legitimate Explanation as to why. Managers constant promise customers something, but when the customers comes in they are never anywhere to be found, and we get the curse outs because of something that they did. (This happens on a regular) promotions aren’t guaranteed. If a manager doesn’t like you on a personal level, they won’t promote you, regardless if the numbers you bring to the store. The company doesn’t care about their employees, they only care about their money.

Pros

In the Washington D.C area Hertz locations you get good pay overall from all other Hertz in the area. You get good hours and

Cons

Depending on the location you can be overworked 7am-6pm and depending on your area you will have to work by yourself. Alot of the times your cleaning cars and renting to customeres, you have to travel to get the cars clean them and then rent them to customers. You have to travel to get cars from other locations, they have limited drivers to get you the cars you need. At Hertz they cut corners on almost everything, recently it has been your commission. High turn over that is no lie, who wants to work at the same position and not advance because they don't have a bachelors degree? It takes 4 years to get it, after 4 years you can then become 1 grade higher, and after 1 year 1 grade higher and after 2 years you can become a Branch Manager by then your worn out and want to quit. Pay needs to increase for Sales and Service associates, especially ones with experience,

Pros

The job is easy You meet some really nice customers

Cons

-Super shady sales tactics (adding stuff without the customers knowledge) -Ridiculous long hours with very little help -You are expected to do every job below you at all times, as well as sell to a customer at the same time. -The company only cares about your ability to sell to customers, not your overall performance. - If you can't sell or meet numbers, don't expect to get promoted. -Work / life balance isn't a thing - If you are married, have kids, or looking to have a girlfriend/boyfriend then this job isn't for you.
