Pros

If you dig there are some pros to the job. Hertz is a fortune 500 company. You get the experience for working for a fortune 500 company as a manager trainee. You will learn many different sales and customer service techniques, while learning how to successfully manage a fleet of vehicles. You get paid every week. Another pro would be the numerous discounts you can receive from working there. If you stay long enough, you will gain good benefits as well.

Cons

The pay freaking sucks. We know it is an entry level position but don't pay us like high school students. You must have a college degree to work there so the pay should be increased. To make up for the terrible pay you have to work long hours every week just to try to get by. You will end up working 55-60 hours per week. If you don't have a porter you will end up cleaning out the cars. Unrealistic sales goals for some branches is another problem.

Pros

There are a good people you'll work with.

Cons

-I was lied to about my starting wages by over $5,000 per year. -After starting I was lied to about pay increases and bonuses. -Long unrewarding hours. I'm use to working 60 hours per week in construction but long days at Hertz are much less rewarding.

Pros

The opportunity to learn how to run a business and the advancement opportunity is great. Fortune 500 company so if you post on a resume that you did their program for even a year would look very good. Get to drive nice cars. Meet a lot of interesting people. Overall good opportunity for a recent grad with a liberal arts or business degree.

Cons

Clean cars. Very long hours 55+ Average weekly pay about $500 after taxes for 55 to 60 hours of work. Management will place you anywhere depending on their needs. Angry customers at the counter always complaining about something. Customers don't treat you well. Very dirty offices with old and slow computers.
