Pros

Company car + insurance, decent salary, freedom at times to market yourself and build your business. A somewhat flexible work schedule gives us the chance to be able to grow your business, however it comes with some reigns attatched. If only the term "sales" and "operations" could really mean "sales" and "operations".

Cons

Upper level management could not get their operations plan together. This along with slow sales from the top level of management can and will always kill the working environment.

Pros

Ops Management level employees receive company car and free gasoline.

Cons

Annual salary is much lower that similar positions in other industries. Prior to sale from Ford Motor, senior management team was actually focused on running a successful auto rental company. Post sale, new leadership focused only on stock price is running company into the ground. Senior management implemented a "Lean" program, and promptly began to lay off thousands of employees. How did they expect to get employee buy-in to the "Hertz Improvement Process" when most employees associate it with layoffs? Mr. Frissora must not have actually read the "Toyota book" that he passed around to everyone like a bible.

Pros

If you enjoy a fast paced, competitive environment, where every day presents new challenges, this is the place. Compensation is fair and bonus opportunities abound, quarterly and annually.

Cons

The industry is experiencing the worst economic conditions in its history as it depends on business and discretionary spending through the travel industry. Yes, this can be said for all business and industry at the present, but fleet expence that continues to rise vs.competitive pricing that doesn't support that expence, can't provide a very favorable outlook for managers and employees. Manpower reductions are the principle way that the company has chosen to offset expence. Long hours and problematic customer service issues will face the location managers, creating a very "reactive" approach to their day. Due to the crisis in the used car market, fleet will age at a pace never seen before resulting in high mileage units that will not meet customer expectations. Bonus calculations are determined by customer satisfaction and profitability metrics, making this a difficult challenge at best.
