Pros

The company as a whole is a pretty good place to work. Relaxed settings, great coworkers who are generally driven to succeed, and really good internal tools. It's amazing to me how good the internal tools are. The company is big enough that you can almost always find a niche that you like. It's also so big that finding the right person to solve an issue is 80% of the battle most of the time.

Cons

That being said, it's a long way from where it was 10 years ago. Meg's emphatic push to get everyone back into an office is pretty dumb, as it's costing the company a tremendous amount of brainpower and institutional knowledge. Upper management is almost clueless as to what the worker bees are doing. The siloed business units might as well be other companies. And the relentless pursuit of the perfect quarter has stimied progress on anything that takes longer than 2 months to achieve.

Pros

-Fortune 50 company name on your resume -Work life balance -Healthcare options

Cons

-No career development, the new Inside Sales Director can be summarized by "I would rather hire external, I won't promote any ISRs to management roles" -Culture change, with the new Director from Dell, all the new managers are from outside HPE (and have no managerial or sales experience) he is recruiting pawns who will do whatever he says; without any interest in growing or developing internal talent -Micromanagement, the new managers time every single moment a ISR gets out of their desk; they record how long you go to the restroom and lunch; and record that data so that can use it as a flimsy excuse to fire you later. -No job security, they use the term "work force reduction or wfr" and every 6 months ISRs who just happen not to align to the new culture tend to be laid off -New Dell culture, all work and no games just dial and try to make HPE more money -Lies about promotions, they lure you in with terms of ISR progression and claim you can move up quick, in actuality the fine print says only a particular amount of people can move every time -Capped commissions, you can only make so much; this is one of the only sales companies i know where they punish you for performing too well. -Never getting to leave early on Fridays, one of the only tech companies that does that -Backfilling ( working a territory when someone quits in order to cover the gap) they never pay you for it -8 months without a sales letter -8 months without a commission check -Lies about pay, they constantly short you as one director noted "if its not in writing it didn't happen" -Lastly career develop, they don't do it, -The way commission is calculated is so convoluted that even the people in the department can't explain it, it is set up to be confusing on purpose; that way you can't question your check. -Professional dress code, dress pants and tie all time time, again most tech companies will allow jeans and a collared shirt. -If you want to be a ISR the rest of your life then the new HPE is for you, if you want to grow and develop then go somewhere else.
