Pros
Pros: I love my colleagues and my direct supervisors. I get to research and study what I love every day. Students can be wonderful and engaged. Faculty lounge is stocked with free coffee, tea, snacks, and once a week there's a free catered lunch. We get bonuses yearly depending on student enrollment. Overall: I love working here. But I've heard it depends on your colleagues and department. My department and school is generally very supportive of each other, and I really like the people I work with.
Cons
Cons: there is sometimes a culture of overworking yourself. Students can also be extremely difficult to work with. We are often reminded how "replaceable" we are.
