The people are generally really wonderful and want to do their best. Campus is pretty.

Cons

They do not treat employees with real value- offering low salaries and constantly dumping more work on you for no additional pay. They know they can hire another replacement straight out of school and pay them less so they don’t place a lot of emphasis on keeping people happy there. Raises each year were based on a performance review and were never over 2%. Supervisors were told not to ever give all high ranks on the reviews so that they wouldn’t have to give a raise. Turnover is high.

Pros

HPU is very forward thinking, innovative, and financially smart. Strong job security which isn't present at many other colleges and universities.

Cons

Not much flexibility with time off. Student success is more of a marketing strategy vs intrinsic value for the university. University runs like a business (for better or worse).
