Pros

Most support from Department of Health & Social Services staff, the best and most communicative team I have worked with besides my last job! Mentorship is a strong priority and maintains continuity with staff members. Principals, Teachers, and Office Staff are highly supportive in assisting with the children's very basic health needs while nurses see to more complex treatments. I am provided with a fairly wide variety of challenges that are stimulating on this job and working with the little ones makes the job fun.

Cons

Hardly even one to mention, except the occasional emotional attachment to doing the work.

I am retired and substitute in the district. After 30 plus years in the district I value the relationships I have developed with the employees and students. Highline is a family. We care about our students, schools, and staff.

Cons

Just like any district, you need to deal with stress and change. This is the nature of the work.
