Draconian leadership style, backstabbing of team members, high stress, overworked, ridiculous amounts of work with grossly unfair deadlines. They will lie to your face, or withhold important I formation, in the job interview and after your employed there. They make up excuses to keep you there. You have to substantiate your time on all projects...similar to billable hours. Though your salary exempt, they watch your every movement even if you already have given 40 hours towards working projects and the week isn't finished. Managers are more concerned about how they are perceived by upper management for their own future promotion to an executive position. Salary employees are not compensated for their time. 37 1/2 hour work week is not true; you will average 45-55 hours per week, or more on a regular basis. If you don't subscribe to their demands, you'll be dinged on your reviews. They go through, what they call, corporate restructuring every 6 to 12 months. They revamp their job position titles and pay scale every 2 years. You can start as a consultant and be reduced to an analyst; a step down the ladder that will effect your resume for future positions. They want 200% of you, but will feed you bread crumbs for you efforts and alot of empty promises. Class action employment wage and hour lawsuit just waiting to happen.

No work/life balance. Gym at work but never a minute to use it. Processes are constantly changing and becoming more cumbersome. Spend so much time doing administrative work there isn't enough time to do your real job as an analyst. Required to work 45 hours a week but most people are working closer to 50-55 hours and still can't meet the project deadlines that are set by people who have no clue what is involved in implementing a project. I have been at highmark almost 30 years and the last 6-7 years have been so bad that I think about quitting every day. I'm just hanging on for 3 years to retire. Employees are not appreciated by upper management.
