Pros

Good company for someone entry level or senior management looking for their "retirement" job. Great benefits including free health, medical, dental, vacation, holidays, bonus, etc. 401K match is phenomenal IF* you can afford to max it out. Holiday events like Luncheon, Gift cards, etc. Company as a whole is growing. Colleagues are pretty much supportive for the most part. In general a safe working environment You meet people who've been here for a couple months to 20+ years. Good mix of young + old people Annual raise is standard average In general flexible work hours as long as the work is completed

Cons

Company is growing in certain sites but dying in others. More profitable sites are given more resources and attention. Salary for management are high but for everyone else below is below average. No pension or stock options as benefits. Some departments are overstaffed/overworked and some are severely understaffed. Compensation is on the low side compared to other pharma companies and pay increase isn't that great when you advance The only way you can move up is pretty much when someone leaves or transfer to another department. Favoritism causes some people to advance a couple times within a year (especially senior management) and there are ones who have been here for 20+ years whom never got promoted once or only once. Upper Management doesn't really engage with lower level employees. Changes are made without informing the employees or done at the very last minute. People are terminated/ laid off without informing other employees. Company pays more to new people coming in than employees who have been tenured longer. Company is resistant to change in certain ways and has a mafia like atmosphere. Very top heavy...Too many chiefs not enough indians

Pros

Decent benefits, but they're only temporary due to the purchase of Roxane. Benefits for the Columbus site will see a sharp decline to match the rest of West-Ward's sites.

Cons

Low job security, and chances are they don't want you even though they need you. Looking around the office that was BI-Roxane: there used to be a lack of office space, and now ~70% of the cubicles are empty. West-Ward, at the time of the Roxane purchase, was 3x smaller than Roxane, and they're going through immense growing pains. Our computer systems fail daily, the product pipeline gets thinner every minute, and the backorders keep on growing. Everyone who made Roxane profitable left with the BI merger, or in the months after the buyout. Every department is short people, and it's only a matter of time before the warning letters start rolling in. Honestly, if you work here, and your severance is less than 3 months, it's time to start looking for another job...

Pros

Good benefits and salary. Good work/life balance. Employees are good people and most do a good job.

Cons

Sr. Management has its head in the sand. They are poor listeners and keep promoting the same people who are part of the problem. There is no innovation in thought or approach. Few people are willing to think outside the box.
