Great co-workers, different accounts have different levels of difficulty.

Cons

Low salaries for some areas, technology isn't great, Hines overstaffs some managers on larger accounts.

No Room for Growth

Pros

Great benefits! Great place to learn the business of real estate.

Cons

No opportunity to grow. They prefer to hire outside instead of promoting within even though you are currently doing the work, and they expect you to train the new employee who has been hired in a higher position. They make up the rules as they go as far as requirements needed for a particular position. They say one thing and then do another. They have employees complete survey's; however, nothing ever comes out of it. Employees constantly complain about lack of communication and growth opportunity, yet nothing changes.

Pros

Excellent coworkers and supervisors with Big 4 experience. Lots of opportunity to innovate if you show some initiative. Decent Pay/Worklife balance. We have a health fitness program called Vitality that encourages some health competition between various regions. Lots of coworkers have a long tenure at Hines. Your career is only limited by your initiative.

Cons

Career track is not transparent. Getting information about it is like pulling teeth. It seems like people who don't work with you may have a say in whether you're promoted or not. Some supervisors seem to believe in an arbitrary "pay your dues" period even if you are performing above and beyond your peers. Despite this, it is still possible to progress here. You just have to be relentless in keeping your supervisor informed about your progress.
