      Pros

      Hines is a stable organization with a strong engineering base which is supported institutionally. As such, it provides the advanced learning tools to ensure the longevity of and prosperity to its engineers. I have great admiration for what Jeff and his father have achieved.

      Cons

      Similar support is not as prevalent to non-engineering employees although the company is making strides, albeit weak ones, to redress this issue. Organization overall is not women-friendly. Although has a few positioned in prominent spots they do not hold positions of power in the core business (engineering and construction management). Women are undervalued. Management style tends to lean towards autocratic.

      Hines direct managers are generally very supportive. They tend to be approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping team members succeed, whether through regular feedback, career guidance, or removing roadblocks when needed.

      Cons

      Management at higher levels tends to be quite conservative in approach. Key decisions or rationale behind changes are frequently shared late, selectively, or in vague terms, which can make it feel like information flows slowly.
