Pros

Most people join because they care about the mission, and because of that there are a lot of great people that you get to work with. There are good snack/drink options when you're in the office

Cons

When you first start it seems like the best job with all of the tech company perks and the great people, but there is so much gaslighting and micromanagement that you soon get a glimpse at what's really behind the curtain. Instead of your manager listening to you when you tell them you have too much on your plate, they will gaslight you instead of helping you. A decent amount of the leadership and management team have been with the company almost since it first started - they worked their way up to the top, but they now have very little to no work experience outside of Hinge and don’t know how other companies function. There are so many egos swirling around in upper management that it’s sometimes just an endless swirl and nothing gets accomplished. The company will not prioritize your career growth and the way performance reviews are conducted are not standardized, so you’ll have no clue how to advance and will not be encouraged to grow. The head of the people team quit last year and they still haven’t hired a replacement - as is the HR stereotype, they’re only there to protect the company and leadership, and any issues from lower level employees won’t be taken seriously. Pay is also under market rate compared to roles at other small to medium-sized tech companies, plus their remote policy is very confusing and somewhat discriminatory. They will hire new roles remotely as they see fit, but current employees need to be hybrid in New York or argue their case and suffer a 10% pay cut if they want to move and be full remote.

Pros

- Fun and interesting work. - Good company culture. - A lot of opportunity for growth. - Good work life balance.

Cons

- Scaling to a larger company has been challenging at times. - Too strong an emphasis on RTO. Should allow employees to work from anywhere.

Pros

- Great benefits, - Great snacks in the office, - Beautiful and comfortable office - Some good employee reward programs. - Fun product - Intelligent peers

Cons

I joined this company thinking "Finally, a company that has figured it out." I was incredibly wrong. - The executive team is highly inexperienced which seems to influence the consistently shifting strategies and org chart. - The level of gaslighting and bullying that is pumped out by C-level execs and managers is beyond anything thing I have seen in previous workplaces or anywhere. - Core values are followed when it is convenient only. - Executive Management is constantly using corporate jargon to spin unflattering data. This causes employees to feel distrustful of managers and execs.
