Good pay and benefits, some nice people

Cons

Attorney egos will fire you for no good reason except that they don't like you. Expectation that you will know how to do everything with little to no training on specific work. It all depends on the attorneys you are working for. They have unrealistic expectations out of their secretaries.

Substantive experience from day one; great work-life balance; for the most part, intelligent and personable colleagues; transparency in management; less hierarchal than the typical big law firm

Below market pay, often with no bonus; inconsistent work flow; a few difficult personalities, though no different from other law firms;

adequate place to work if you are not looking for recognition and decent pay

flexibility, name recognition, ability to work independent

Cons

Staff support is inadequate. Heavy work load but you have to fight for overtime, very little respect shown to paralegals by attorneys and secretaries. they are treated like the red headed step children. Reviews and salaries are based on tenure not on performance and quality.
