Great place if you like working 7 days a week.

Pros

Above Average pay for the area. Union shop. Employees can purchase 2nds several times a month. The investment company that owns Hoffmaster has spent some money on new equipment.

Cons

No vacation for new hires for at least 1 year. Could be almost 2 years depending on when you start. No personal time for at least a year either. Plan on working lots of overtime especially during the summer months. Could be 52-68 hours a week. 10-15 years behind the times. Some equipments 40-50 years old. Managers / Value Stream are nothing more than yes men who have no idea what they are doing. Nothing more than clipboard managers. The place is pretty much run by the seat of their pants.

Sorry to say, if you are a new hire operators will blame there down time on you. Even know it's not your fault to make you look bad. Seen it done, just so they don't look bad. Operator think just because they run a machine they don't have to help there catcher, don't get it. Your a team. Your machine is running you have time to help with labels and more it's not just them. This is the first place I walked into I see the ME factor and not Team factor.

Too many shift leads, hard to get to day shift even after putting in well over 5 years with the company, no pay increase for working nights
