*I have been told she no longer works at Hofstra however*: The manager created a hostile work environment in the office. She screamed, micro-managed, and talked badly about employees behind their backs to other employees. She was narcissistic, abusive, and sexually harassed her subordinates. Her behavior was illegal and she was reported by multiple people. The laws that exist are put in place to protect us from people like her. However, unfortunately, the university did not fire her, she left on her own terms. I am not sure who the current manager is but this is who they hired before so I'm not sure how good they are at picking quality people. Even though this was the highest position available in the program we still didn't make minimum wage. The university is allowed to pay the federal minimum wage so after being promoted twice I still only made $13.75 an hour. Always on call and bringing work home or staying late. The job did not need to be like this but the constant stress from management demanded it. Many tasks and procedures were regularly overcomplicated by the manager.

Low pay salary, leadership is very dated, not open to trying new things, need to advance with the technology and trends,
