it is a good job, if you have nothing else

Cons

poor working environment (health wise), poor job security, poor professionalism. Nobody wants to bear any responsibility for a decision. So many meeting takes place to distribute responsibilities among the large group. You may save company million buck, but doing this you make someone look bad - you are out. The whole place stays in tact due to the Union works who mostly know how to operate the plant. At the same time, corporate technical people can't make even simple engineering calculations without mistakes of the poor engineering student.
