Pros

My location was close to home. The commute was only 10 minutes. Free coffee and fountain soda. Interaction with a variety of people.

Cons

Low pay, and very little to no opportunity for advancement, which led to very high turnover. Management at my store rarely invested money back into the business. We had slow registers from the 1980s, slow gas pumps, dial-up Internet, printers from the early 1990s, a car wash that often broke down, and no cameras at the gas pumps. Speaking up about issues at store meetings led to management dismissing our concerns as "laziness" and led to some being let go. Even the store manager's concerns were often dismissed by corporate. Employees were blamed for drive-offs at gas pumps. We consistently told management we needed cameras, because we couldn't see license plates because of the layout of the pumps. The management never provided the cameras. Low staffing because of management wanting to cut hours. This led to employees being overworked at busy times (lunch, early evening, weekends), and customers having to wait in long lines to be served.
