Pros

I can't say for the rest of the groups at Hologic, but for my group you will learn a lot as you will dealing with various departments such as R&D, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs. Such interactions will definitely enable you learn and pick up new skills and apply them.

Cons

As mentioned, this was a manufacturing position as such it was viewed as less important by upper management (at least from what I can tell) and as a result you get the short end of the stick when it comes to compensation.
