Stressful company to work for

Pros

Managers are paid pretty decent and there are more employee discount days than other companies I’ve worked for.

Cons

Managers are forced to work long hours bc of the lack of talent required to run the business. If you can’t work extra, you will be branded as unreliable and subpar employee. Coordinators are paid peanuts and over worked. If you’re the BRC, (backroom coordinator)your life will be hell. Part-time employee pay was even worse and they were shamed for taking days off. Home Office/Upper management are more concerned with getting product in the building than the safety of the team. The company expectation is to finish a truck in 24 hours. The company doesn’t pay its part-time and coordinators enough, to get talent that can aid in assistance with streamlining freight. Instead, the company will settle with retirees on social security bc those are the only people available to accept $12 an hour. Those team members were constantly being pointed out as the problem for trucks being pushed/delayed. But the real problem is with the company refusing to pay employees a decent wage and overstocking stores to where it becomes unsafe for employees and customers as well. If OSHA were to walk into the stores, I can guarantee half would be shutdown due to safety and health violations.

Pros

If you sign up for B shift, you only work weekends. The job offers great benefits.

Cons

Managers exert excessive control, viewing employees as mere assets rather than individuals. Upon joining, one feels like mere property, stripped of social interaction and basic freedoms like restroom breaks. The atmosphere reeks of hostility, with perpetually disgruntled managers exhibiting constant anger. Oddly, such treatment seems reserved for the B shift, indicating a discriminatory pattern. The workplace resembles more a prison yard or military barracks than a professional setting. Despite tireless dedication, employees receive scant respect, making one question the value of hard work in such an environment. If an injury occurs on the job, the treatment worsens, and employees are often left uninformed about their rights. A workplace where injured employees are mistreated and denied their rights is particularly unwelcoming for individuals with disabilities, older workers, or those struggling with mental health challenges.

Pros

Longevity great merchandise from different countries

Cons

District and regional management is very unforgiving and have unrealistic expectations from store teams for low pay. Expect stores to look like grand opening day regardless if there are staff or not. Management is expected to work excessively long hours. There is no work life balance. Race is often a factor when it comes to promotion the Hispanic community bares the brunt of this racism.
