Pros

Will learn plenty of transferable skills if willing and a lot about the retail industry. Can often make some long-term friends with the other workers. The job itself is easy to do.

Cons

Low hour contracts and inconvenient/inconsistent shift times. Rosters are giving for the coming week often only a day or two in advance. Management are so oblivious to how miserable the long-term staff are. Everyone is treated as disposable and all decisions seem to be made to benefit management only. They will snap at you to stop talking to your co-worker while working, but then go back to the office to sit and chat with each other over coffee all day.
