Pros

Free lunch & the office is new.

Cons

The are losing funding quickly and with operational costs being so high the company can’t find any new investors. With limited growth and a leadership team unwilling to take initiative to fix it, results are over worked & under paid employees across the board. They take advantage of their employees, make promises that they never intend to fill, and their claims of transparency are anything but accurate.

We work hard to provide a respectful and rewarding environment and use our regular all hands meetings and manager 1:1s to ensure every employee has all the context about the company they need to be successful. Given our efforts to be transparent, we’re disappointed you chose to share misleading information about the state of Honor’s business. We’re incredibly proud of the record growth we achieved in 2019 (while improving on all customer satisfaction and quality measures) and are on track to continue the same level of growth in 2020. Building a business and changing an industry is hard work, and we’re incredibly grateful to our committed and talented employees who work every day to make this happen.

Pros

Mission-driven, for-profit company in SF. That’s a tough combo to find

Cons

The four co-founders of Honor are actually two married couples, which makes for a very unique culture and decision-making structure. The cofounders seem to get involved in many decisions, even those that don’t concern their area of focus. They don’t seem to trust their leadership team. They also don’t prioritize culture building or work-life balance, so it always feels like people are running around, with everything being a fire drill. Honor also has a very odd talent management philosophy with people coming and going all the time, often with no communication.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. As a family run business our founders truly believe in creating an environment where all of our employees feel valued and empowered. If you feel we’ve missed the mark in some way, we encourage you to speak to your manager or your HR partner. We know our environment can be intense - we are dealing with difficult situations on a daily basis - but we also strive to create opportunities for you to connect with your co-workers and encourage all managers to respect boundaries and work-life balance. The quarterly engagement surveys, town halls, regular 1:1s with your manager, and HR office hours are all opportunities to share your ideas and feedback and we really want to hear them!

Pros

plenty job offers within the network of clients needing care paid weekly bonuses for covering a shift or taking on last minute jobs are generous

Cons

constant txt received from company asking to cover shifts/take on new clients communicating with company is frustrating because it's mostly done via txt, you never know which employee is getting the txt and their communication lines within the company are completely obsolete or so it seems . (Repeat calls and txts asking for the same information) pay is not that great and there is not a local office to take up any issues to speak with someone in person. If communication is need with HR dept. they have an messaging service that has a 2 day turn around time and your lucky if you do indeed get a return call.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review - we really appreciate your feedback. While many of our Care Pros prefer to find out about new jobs by text, we will honor a Care Pro’s request not to learn about new opportunities in that manner. We hope that you will contact us at careprohr@joinhonor.com or 650-297-2138 so we can speak with you directly about your experience.
