Pros

A well-organised and genuinely supportive onboarding experience. It’s clear the company has put real thought into how new starters are brought in and helped to settle. The use of AI is practical rather than gimmicky — particularly helpful for answering common questions and understanding the company’s systems and architecture — which makes it much easier to get up to speed. The interview process was professional and straightforward, and the people I met throughout were bright, motivated and easy to work with. There’s a clear sense of shared direction, which makes it easier to feel engaged from early on.

Pros

Working at Horizon3.ai has a lot of upside. The company moves extremely fast, so there’s constant momentum and very little sense of stagnation—every day really does bring a new, interesting challenge to solve. You get to work with modern tools and techniques rather than being held back by legacy processes, and there’s a strong culture of ownership where individuals are trusted with meaningful problems that have visible impact on the product and customers. The environment is filled with talented, motivated people, and that combination of smart teammates plus good checks and balances means you can move quickly without completely sacrificing quality, safety, or rigor. It’s also a deeply “learn‑it‑all” culture, which makes it a great place to grow as an engineer and as a security practitioner.

Cons

Those same strengths come with trade‑offs. The intensity and pace can be mentally taxing; this is not a place where you coast or do the same predictable tasks every day. Priorities and projects can shift quickly as the company and product evolve, which means you need to be comfortable with ambiguity and frequent change, and ready to juggle multiple threads at once. Expectations are high because the bar of the team is high, so you’re expected to own problems end‑to‑end, not just execute narrowly defined tasks. Compared to a large, mature enterprise, some processes and structures are still evolving, so if you prefer very rigid frameworks and long, stable roadmaps, the environment can feel a bit chaotic at times.
