Pros

great benefits and pay. they care about their people and well being. also one of the few companies that still offers a great pension plan.

Cons

poor work life balance, but it is what you make of it. other than that pretty great organization

Pros

Good pay. Good benefits. If you're right out of college you can have a great career. They do a great job of providing training. They're very concerned about safety. Very financially conservative and stable company. They have a lot of long time employees.

Cons

It's a hard place to fit in if you're midcareer and you have ideas outside of the way they do it. Not a lot of forward movement if you're in the smaller plants. There seems to be a lot of young people far in their career that have big egos.

Pros

Hormel is a successful company that is small enough to move around into different fields, and to make your successes seen by upper/executive management. Once you get involved in the culture it is hard to get out, and that's a good thing if you see yourself there for the long run.

Cons

The opportunities are not always in desirable locations. The company could also use some improvement in the diversity of its professional employees.
