My first year (out of 3) was a positive teaching experience. Students made all the difference during the first two years.

Cons

No training for objective such as advising students, administrative responsibilities. Guarantied support that promised was never provided when asked to take on more responsibility. There was not equality amongst faculty. There was constant fear based management which created a hostile work environment. No job security and many wolf's in sheep's clothing. Proceed with caution.

Great to gain experience right out of college. students are good kids for the most part

Cons

working 60+ hour weeks with very little pay and no time off. upon requesting time off, was expected to give a detailed report of why I needed off. was promoted to assistant director before I left and was not given a cent of salary increase though my job duties doubled. was not allowed to take off during summer season as this was our busiest season but my super was nowhere to be found...she did not follow the same rules she outlined for her workers. since I did not have a "family" my personal time was regarded as insignificant. was not allowed to share with coworkers that I lived with my fiance. administration is a JOKE, they care more about money than they do the students. i was appalled at how they handled university business.
