      Pros

      There are many opportunities to attend training. Also, HISD offers an online "Blackboard" type platform for employees, especially teachers, to learn about effective teaching strategies. You get an opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals and their family.

      Cons

      Lack of a life/work balance. Classes exceed the state class size ratio. Teachers and support staff are highly underpaid and undervalued. Disgruntled communities. Lack of resources in certain schools.
