Pros

I worked under wonderful leadership for part of my time in HISD. Time off during holidays and summer is a plus, however, you more than make up for it during the school year.

Cons

Pay is low, especially for veteran teachers. Starting salary is decent for the profession. Principals do not have the ability to offer incentives to hard working teachers.
