Pros
Professional development. The city-wide district employees seem to be more on the ball than on many of the individual campuses. District wide events are well organized and helpful, though many times the suggestions can't be implemented into your own classroom.
Cons
Poor leadership at tough schools makes it harder for the teacher to help the students that need the most help. As a professional, I have been spoken down to on multiple occasions - and I was the top performing teacher in my content area. Also, there are few open, available options open outside of the classroom (surprising, given the size of the district). Many teachers on my campus suffered from burnout this year.
