Pros
You can't beat the schedule, if you're a 10 month employee. That means its great for teachers and "select" support staff, not so for everyone else.
Cons
You are pigeon-holed and there is no room for advancement. You are also viewed as a pawn to be played with. There is little respect for individuals other than "how they can be used". College degrees are unimportant and you are not viewed as a professional.
