Because it takes a village, its only going to work it you have a desire to help. Its not easy but its rewarding.

Cons

Not everyone in the field of education cares about the students. The job is hard and overwhelming at times, but your passion is what keeps you coming back.

Large organization with many departments that can be interacted with. Holiday schedule and retirement plan very attractive.

Cons

Limited upward mobility after a certain point. Salary increases are infrequent.

The vacation and other time off is phenomenal. There aren't many places where administrative personnel get two weeks off for Christmas.

Cons

If you aren't a teacher, or directly impacting the lives of students, your efforts are seldom recognized. You are the last to get a raise and the first to be cut in a downsizing effort.
