Good benefits mean lower base salary

Directors tend to micromanage and not delegate work, preferring to just do themselves or pay outside firms instead of utilize their own people; autonomy is nonexistent and taking initiative / being proactive isn't valued. Very difficult to build relationships and have contact with people outside of your department unless you're a director. Communication (especially around deadlines) could use improvement.
