Pros

If you're lucky, you get a good team and manager. You do learn a lot which really puts you at the top of the list of who understands the ins and outs of the Software.

Cons

Very metrics heavy and upper management lacking any sense of sympathy or empathy, assuming they have their own to hit. Starting pay is usually 45k, which is bad.

Pros

-Free book every month -Engaged D&I community -Genuinely great people to work with. I never met anyone that wasn't a pleasure to work with -Transparent with data -Overall a nice welcoming company culture

Cons

-Success/Support department is very metrics driven, and loses the sight of 'customer first' when the push is to hit you UoW (units of work) -no time for development for yourself (you get an extra hour a day to work on this) but reality is this time goes to trying to hit your UoW or juggling your queue -pay is still low for the amount of knowledge this role has and how important it is in the front line service -So many wonderful and smart people work in the department, but there isn't much room for upward mobility.
