Thanks for your review and for being part of our engineering org, we're really grateful for all that you do to help us build products our customers love. We will continue to invest in mid-level management resources, thanks for the callout there--we are working hard to ensure we support our managers and create more consistency in that experience; if there's anything else we can do on that front, just say the word. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback and for the work you do for HubSpot! -Katie

Pros

- Talented and friendly colleagues. - Management are very open to hearing your concerns and genuinely try to improve things - The whole business is very transparent - anything you want to know about how the business works is available to you. - A good place for talented grads

Cons

- Career progress can be slow, it feels like you get stuck at a level. - No matter how much they dress it up, you're building marketing automation software and that can be a bit unrewarding. - Hard to have an impact on a 300+ person engineering org as an engineer - Experience outside of HubSpot doesn't count once you get in the door - that can make the environment a bit frustrating for experienced engineers.

Pros

Tons of autonomy. If you are smart and driven you can both make an impact and grow a ton as an engineer. There are teams working across a wide spectrum of initiatives and opportunities to move around. The focus is on results, which is something you have a lot of control over.

Cons

There are at times some growing pains, as HubSpot is constantly growing quickly and needing to adapt. We don't always get it right, but the management cares a lot is always looking to improve.

Being a TL at HubSpot is no easy feat, thanks for all that you do and for taking the time to write this up, I really appreciate it. I appreciate your push on transparency and your acknowledgement that we don't always get it right but do spend a lot of time ensuring we correct it when we don't. Thanks for taking the time to write this up and for helping our engineering team evolve and grow with scale. Sincerely, Katie
