Pros

- career growth: my manager and coworkers are great mentors and genuinely want to help me grow my career and learn each and every day. - perks: unlimited vacation, food, beer, nap room, gym, Equinox classes, AMAZING PEOPLE AND CULTURE! - immediate impact: I started at HubSpot about 8 months ago and I immediately felt like I had an immediate impact on my team and the company. It's truly amazing how each and every segment of this company is important. Each department feeds off one another to operate this amazing organization and product. - transparency!!

Cons

compared to other similar companies it seems like our compensation is lower. However, the perks HubSpot has really does outweigh any small gap in compensation.

Hmm, I wrote back to this one a bit ago but it's not showing up here, my sincere apologies--thank you for writing this, and for being a HubSpotter for what is now almost a year. I love that you love the Healthy@HubSpot program (I do too, but I need to use more of it lately!) and most importantly that you feel your work is already having an impact--we are so glad you chose HubSpot, thank you for the review and for moving the needle on our brand and our business. -Katie

Pros

I think the thing I love most about HubSpot is that it's at a place where we're established enough to have the resources and the wisdom of a company that's figured out what we're doing, but still small enough that a single person can make an enormous impact. For a designer like me, that's huge. At a larger company, like Facebook or Google, I'd never have as much autonomy to make the design decisions that I currently do as the sole designer for my piece of the HubSpot software. That's given me an incredible opportunity to grow my craft and has made me so invested in the part of the product that I work on. Besides that, the people I work with, especially my immediate team, are fantastic people - they genuinely care about their coworkers, the company, and the product we're building, they're smart, they're helpful, and they have good senses of humor. I couldn't imagine a better group of people to work next to every day. In addition, I've never had a problem with work life balance at HubSpot - I set boundaries for myself before I started working full time (like not working on nights or weekends except in extreme circumstances, not responding to emails or chats after hours, etc). Of course it's easier for my role, since I don't have to be on call like engineers do in case something breaks, but I've found that my coworkers are very respectful of my work hours. In general, HubSpot is a fantastic place to work, and I'm incredibly happy at my job.

Cons

Things change as the company gets bigger, and as it gets bigger it gets a little harder to make sure the right information gets around to the right people. There are a few growing pains like that, but they certainly pale in comparison to the pros.

Thanks for your review, and for helping drive the success of our business--I love how thoughtful our design team is in driving the success of our customers and our business, I think we are just scratching the surface on what your team will help us achieve over the next several years. I love that you resolved to set boundaries before you arrived and that folks have been respectful of that, and I also love that you call out the fact that HubSpotters have a great sense of humor--I happen to agree, and it's one of the many reasons I love working here. I would agree with you on the challenges of information flow--we are actively working on it, and at some point it may even call for a design thinking brainstorm so we get your brain (and others like you) helping us think creatively on it as we scale globally. In the interim, thank you so much for your hard work and for your review, I deeply appreciate it. -Katie
