Pros

Smart people, innovative policies and processes, always something new on the horizon. It's a winning team. You get to mix it up with many different types of roles (developers collaborating with marketers collaborating with services folks, collaborating with sales reps). Very strong brand in our industry. Feels like we're the Apple of marketing software industry.

Cons

Everything is fast. Shifting, changing. Growing team means growing complexity. Things slow down, things get lost in translation, departments inadvertantly working at cross ends. Don't get me wrong, nobody like it when they happens and people always are trying to work things out and work together. Alignment is a regular vocab word around here. The micro culture/work/status is not consistent across teams. But the macro culture is strong.

Pros

Amazing leniency with being able to get your work done where you feel like you work best. I have never worked with a smarter group of folks. The interview process is tough, but it's for a good reason once you see the character of folks you are surrounded by. Perks and benefits are unparalleled, and people do not take advantage of them! I am beyond grateful to work at HubSpot

Cons

At times, role changes can be adamant, yet that is the kind of environment HubSpot has- we are never done improving and never done growing :)

Pros

HubSpot's training is top-notch, both their inbound marketing training as well as their on-going sales coaching. From a lead perspective, HubSpot generates 50K to 60K leads per month which means no cold-calling for the VAR Channel Account Managers. Further, their marketing team creates really great, helpful content which people love, so 99% of the calls you have are with people who already love the brand and product. The managers really care about your development and don't micro-manage. They let you run your own business. They put an emphasis and teaching, coaching, and learning. Further, they pay very well. I went from making $55K/year at my last sales job to $184K in my first year with HubSpot.

Cons

The most difficult part of the job is time-management. There are a lot of unqualified leads that come through and it's your job to disqualify prospects who are not going to make good re-sellers. You must quickly assess if HubSpot's Partner Program can help them or not, if not, you must break up with them. In your first year as a VAR Channel account manager, you must work very hard to set yourself up for year 2. This means long hours at the office for your first 6-9 months. However, the payoff is worth the wait.
