Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

Salary employee required to use a time clock. If you don't work 40 hours, then you don't get paid for 40 hours. Have to clock out for lunch, and clock back in right at 30 minutes. For a salary position this is very odd. Job was so boring, other co worker proceeded to do most of the work, and always complained how busy they were. Meanwhile I sat for 8 hours a day with nothing to do. Manager was remote to, so there was no help there. Asked many times for more work, and nothing.

Great place/position to understand and learn the workings of a business and develop you business acumen.

Cons

Can be challenging balancing needs of operations and other departments. Prioritizing what needs to be done first is a key skill to learn

Pros

Hubbell is a strong, valuable, and solid corporation. Has been in business since 1888 and has many businesses under the corporate umbrella.

Cons

Local, Arden NC, management above the Supervisory level is outrageously poor. Supervisors are treated poorly and lied about, so issues/problems are presented as though they are not doing their job, when they are actually being directed to act in that fashion. There has been a great deal of telling employees one thing today, and denying it tomorrow, and blaming the "miscommunication" on supervision. "Top" person, again locally, puts on a show - will almost have you believe him if you aren't following closely enough - but it is nothing but a show. Will look you straight in the eye and lie with a straight face. Also loves to use the claim that problems will be fixed in two weeks, or more often, four weeks. Still, things don't get fixed - a verbal stall tactic and known lie when he says it. When employees hear the "X weeks to fix it", they literally laugh at him, knowing the lie. He is clueless in people skills, is very condescending to all, and has neither the respect for nor the appreciation of older associates, in particular. If you question the validity of the age question, simply review employee turnover since his arrival around June 2021. For those seeking a management position, you will be worked ridiculous hours, come in on your own time for "classes", truly never be paid your worth/value, and if you are in the older club - forget it. It was clearly stated in an HR conference by him that he wanted to get rid of all the old people and bring in only younger ones who know nothing. Mission accomplished. The best thing for Arden is to have a strong UNION come in and help the existing workforce. Maybe that is why hourly employees have asked me for help in getting a UNION in there. CORRECTION: Total salary in last year as Supervisor was a little over $134,000. I erred in the original total, but cannot go back onto that page.
