I was supposed to show up at 11 am for my shift and woke up around 9. I don't check my phone right away since I had to get breakfast and get ready for work. Close to my shift, I see a message saying they needed me at 7. Nothing I can do about it, and I'm sure they got someone else to cover the shift. I couldn't be the only person they contacted, right? So, I go in 15 minutes before my shift and the manager snaps at me for not coming in at 7. I explained the situation, but all she said was check your phone right away and hounded me to the point I passed out from a panic attack. Then, they wanted me to log in $5/hr for tips when I didn't make that much (also, I think I was told that I would be paid $7.25 until covid stipulations were lifted). A week later, it was too hot because the air conditioner was busted, and was told to stand in the freezer if it got too much. Passed out again. Wasn't called back until the manager sent me a message asking me if I could return without breaking down, or she would have to terminate me. I drove up there and returned my apron and menu, and gave back the shirt with my nametag to get my last check ($28).
